Who we are.
Leadership Team:
Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word.

David Logsdon, Minister
David and Bettina began their ministry at First Christian Church in June 2005. Prior to coming to First Christian, David had been a youth minister for 10+ years in Pryor, OK and Topeka, KS. David has a passion for preaching and teaching the word of God and looks forward to each opportunity he has to do so. David enjoys spending time with his wife, Bettina and their four kids: Jalen, Brenna, Bella and Josiah!
David’s favorite Biblical character is King David. This isn’t just because they share the same name, but because they share a similar story. A story of failure and grace: Failure in the flesh and grace from the Almighty Father. King David was a man after God’s own heart and this is the desire of David Logsdon.
David received his bachelor’s degree from Ozark Christian College in 1996. He and his wife have been married since August 1995. They look forward to a wonderful life together until they are separated by death.
David enjoys playing basketball and softball, but he is 5’6″ so what can he really do. He also loves music, playing the guitar and singing, but music is much better when it is loud and he can sing loud without a care as to who hears him!
Stony Capehart, Youth Minister
Stony and Dana have been ministering in Cleveland since April of 1994. This is Stony’s first ministry after receiving his bachelor’s degree from Ozark Christian College in 1994. Stony enjoys all ages of youth – spending time with them, teaching and growing in the Word with them, and seeing them become involved and serving in Christ’s Body.
Stony and Dana have been married since 1994. They enjoy spending time with each other and their two beautiful daughters – Danielle and Samantha. Stony likes many athletic activities: running, softball, and working out. At his age, though, he just can’t do them like he use too. Most of all, he really treasures his time camping with his family.
Stony’s favorite Biblical character is Peter. They both like to talk, but sometimes do it before they think. They both are forgiven by a risen Savior, and Stony’s prayer is he will live with the same boldness Peter had proclaiming that Savior. Stony’s favorite verse is Psalm 46:10 – “Be still, and know I am God; I will be exalted among this nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

Our history.
On September 20, 1901, the organization of Cleveland Christian Church was perfected. Elder WIlliam Dunkelburger was called as the first pastor. Service were conducted for some time in the school house on the east side of town. The organization was incorporated December 12, 1901.
The Christian Church was the first group to erect a house of worship in Cleveland. The building was completed in June 1902. The site of this first church was directly across the street from where the Church of Christ building now stands; and a home just east of this first building was built as a parsonage for the Christian church minister.
On June 8, 1923, lots were purchased for $2500 to build a new building to house Sunday School classes and a worship center to replace the previous building that was being outgrown. The building was complete with a basement. Our present gravel parking lot south of today’s building was the site for this new building. The building was built at a cost of about $40,000.00 and moved into in 1927.
This is just the beginning of a rich history of First Christian Church in Cleveland, Oklahoma. The church has continued on in her service to her Lord, Jesus, boasting in the Lord Jesus Christ for her success as a beacon in the community of Cleveland, Oklahoma.
Check out our vision to see what we are seeking to accomplish for the glory of God as we continue to keep in step with HIS Spirit.
